Seven-Layer Liner System

The system consists of the following layers, arranged from top to bottom:

Layer 1 – Waste Body
Municipal solid waste and other approved waste materials.

Layer 2 – Leachate Collection and Drainage Layer

Large-Scale Tailings Storage Facility Lining Project
Project Area: Approximately 300,000 m²

This large-scale tailings storage facility uses a multi-layer lining system designed to support seepage control across the basin floor and slopes. The system combines a 1.5 mm HDPE geomembrane manufactured to GRI-GM13 requirements, 600 g/m² PET filament geotextile, and 4,800 g/m² geosynthetic clay liner (GCL).

Installed from the bottom upward, the GCL forms the base layer, followed by the protective geotextile and the HDPE geomembrane. Together, these materials provide a robust containment solution for demanding tailings storage applications. Careful panel deployment, seam welding, and installation quality control are essential to the performance of the completed lining system.
